This garden does not conform to all the accepted design features of a typical garden, mainly because of cost and space considerations. However where possible we have incorporated as many features as possible particularly those of SHAKKEI whereby the views outside the garden are ''borrowed'' by allowing them to be seen from within the garden. This was done in the main by careful pruning of the surrounding tree canopies and by highering ( known locally as Skirt Raising ) the lowest branches; thus gaining access to previously unseen tree and sky views.
